Holiday Viewing Guide December 2019

A veritable blizzard of Christmas movies will swirl around us like a joyous winter storm of festive cheer this holiday season, and the hardest part is keeping track of them all. So as my gift to you, in addition to my regular monthly listing of new shows coming to streaming, I've compiled a list of links to a host of holiday viewing guides.

Whether you want Hallmark Christmas movies, original new titles created by Netflix or Disney, classics like It's a Wonderful Life or Elf (yes, that is now a classic!), or musical specials and repeats of holiday episodes of classic TV sitcoms, I've got you covered!

Netflix's 2019 Holiday Movies - I'm most looking forward to watching Let It Snow and Holiday in the Wild, but there are many more!

The Cozy Snowbound Sweater-Wearing Guide to 2019 Holiday Movies - This guide compiled by Linda Holmes at one of my favorite podcasts, Pop Culture Happy Hour, has you covered for holiday viewing on Hallmark, Lifetime, UPTV, OWN, Freeform and Netflix (though its listings for Netflix are skimpy, hence the official Netflix guide above).

AMC's Best Christmas Ever 2019 - Loads of holiday favorites can be found here, like Elf; Planes, Trains and Automobiles; and Four Christmases. This schedule will continue to be updated with later dates.

25 Days of Christmas 2019 (Freeform) - Listing of every Christmas movie coming to Freeform from December 1 through Christmas day. This includes titles like Home AloneThe Nightmare Before ChristmasThe Holiday, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Disney Plus Christmas movies - BuzzFeed compiled a list of every Christmas movie to be found on Disney Plus. I'm most looking forward to Noelle, a new one starring Anna Kendrick.

Turner Classic Movies Christmas guide - Countdown Until Christmas was good enough to gather this list of what to watch on TCM. This includes one of my favorites, Meet Me in St. Louis.

24-Hour A Christmas Story Marathon - TBS will be airing this charming holiday favorite starting at 8 p.m. Eastern on Christmas Eve, with the last airing starting at 6 p.m. on Christmas day.

It's a Wonderful Life - Copyright restrictions limit where you'll find this once ubiquitous film. It airs on NBC on November 30 and December 24, and by some Christmas miracle, anyone with Amazon Prime membership can watch it free anytime.

Christmas TV Schedule 2019 - This listing includes many channels, featuring both movies and holiday episodes of TV shows. It's not especially easy to scan through due to the cramped layout of the massive listings (which makes sense given how many shows there are!), but I like that it's all one page so it's easily searchable if you know the title you're looking for.

A Very Merry MeTV - Sunday nights through December 25, MeTV will air holiday episodes of classic TV shows like The Jeffersons and WKRP in Cincinnatti. I actually don't get this channel and hadn't heard of it until my mom raved about it, so I printed her a listing of holiday programming (she doesn't do internet).

PBS Holiday Schedule - Cord Cutters News compiled a list of holiday fare on PBS. It features lots of musical specials and more.
